Discover Scuba

If you have ever wanted to try scuba diving but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into an entire certification course, then Discover Scuba is for you. This program is open to ages 10 and up, with all equipment, training and supervision included.

You don’t have to worry about not knowing how to use your diving gear or how to maintain the correct position underwater. As part of the PADI Discover program, you will receive all instructions from the instructor, and short classes in the pool will allow you to learn the general principle of the diving equipment. During the dive, the instructor will be with you at all times and will actively help you on your first underwater adventure.

Medical Requirements

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Avoid disappointment, download and review the PADI Diver Medical Form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course. Instructors, divemasters and dive shop staff are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.

Prerequisites & Minimum Age
Course prerequisites: able to swim, medically fit for diving, comfortable in the water.

During the Open Water Diver course, your instructor may ask you to:

- Swim the length of the pool
